Account Representative, Mark Rubican, announced earlier today that HDS Marketing will hold its 7th Annual Tradeshow and Golf Outing on August 20, 2008. Rubican said, “Every year our event gets better and better. Our attendance was up in 07’ on both the supplier side and client side. We bring in our preferred suppliers to have direct one-on-one contact with our clients. This allows our suppliers the opportunity to listen directly to the needs of our clients.” This year’s event will be held at The South Pointe Golf Club. Rubican indicated, “This will be our second year at South Pointe. Their accommodations were superb. Most importantly our clients seemed to enjoy the event.”

The event will begin with a tradeshow in the morning followed by lunch and a golf outing in the afternoon. The festivities carryon after the golf outing with an awards banquet and Hors ‘d orderves. This year’s HDS tradeshow will be its largest yet. Rubican said, “We’ve heard back from 90 percent of our suppliers and most of them are coming. We’re almost at full capacity with only a few more slots to fill.”

While a majority of the attendees came from the Western Pennsylvania area, last year HDS clients came from far distances, including Georgia, Tennessee, Connecticut, New York, Maryland, Ohio, and West Virginia.  Rubican indicated, “The event gets larger each year because our clients see the value.” He added, “Official invitations to our clients will go out some time in June, however, if they are interested in signing up early, I suggest they contact their account representative.”

ECO WORLD - Promotional Products

Las Vegas, Nevada  – January 18, 2008 –  HDS Marketing, Inc. Marketing Manager, Michele Fausti announced today from the PPAI Show that the Promotional Product Industry is starting to make progress with the rapidly rising demand for “eco-friendly” product. Fausti said, “I am thoroughly impressed with some of the ideas and creativity many of the suppliers brought to the table. Our clients asked for it, now we can supply it.”  The PPAI Show has traditionally been a perfect venue to launch new product for the beginning of the year. This year’s buzz was ECO Friendly Product.

Mark Algeri, Vice President of Business Development, said, “One of the biggest challenges of 2007 was providing ideas for eco-friendly product. We only had access to actual live product such as bamboo, tree seedlings and products made from corn resin. Once our clients went through those ideas, we were really limited to what we could offer. Corn resin plastic products weren’t really flattering. They were plain looking and not items our clients were really interested in handing out at tradeshows. Now we can offer products, such as water powered calculators, recycled golf balls, eco friendly umbrellas, eco friendly apparel and a variety of other items.”

Fausti indicated, “This was just the first step to providing products that are sustainable. Our industry still has a long way to go. I’d like to see our suppliers continue their commitment to increasing their selection of eco-friendly product.”

Mugs for Soldiers in Iraq

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – January 19, 2007 –  HDS announced today that Ned West, Senior Sales Partner, coordinated efforts to supply misprinted mugs to the soldiers in Iraq. West indicated “It all started with a soldier in Iraq emailing rock band Tea Leaf Green www.tealeafgreen.com.” The soldier’s email stated, “It’s the little things that count over here. Can you send some ceramic coffee mugs because these Styrofoam ones aren’t cutting it?” Tea Leaf Green forwarded the email to their merchandising company, Music Today, who then contacted Ned West.  West said, “I immediately made a call to one of our preferred suppliers, Glass America, who then donated pallets of ‘seconds’ mugs.”  Glass America representative, Terry Sierp, said, “Our seconds of ceramic mugs do not contain chips or cracks but are classified seconds because of decorating quality not passing quality control standards, printing errors, or production overruns.  Each box contains an assortment of different shapes and colors of mugs that were packed randomly as they were unloaded from our lehr ovens. “

Music Today www.musictoday.com coordinated and paid for the shipping costs to Iraq. West added, “It is the little things that count. I’m elated that HDS with our client and supplier partnerships can make such a big impact on the little things for our troops.”
