A Company with Pride
From the wolves that once roamed the hills of Scotland, the Lenox name was born. “On the western shore of Loch Lomond, where the lowland pastures meet the sweeping hills of the highlands, the Earl of Lenox made his home. Also in the area, the wolf pack found shelter and food a plenty. The wolves were known to possess strength, power and the sharpest of teeth. It has been almost 200 years since the last wolf was seen in Scotland, but the legend of the Wolves of Lenox lives on.LENOX® has adopted this image to portray those same characteristics for their products.”
Run by ten employees in 1915, American Saw & Mfg. Company manufactured hacksaw blades under the trade name of LENOX®. Today LENOX® employs over 600 people and markets band saw blades, sawing fluids, hand tools, power tool accessories, torches, gas and solder in over 70 countries around the world.
In January 2003, LENOX® joined Newell Rubbermaid, a FORTUNE 500® company generating over $6 billion in global sales.
HDS Marketing partnered with LENOX® in 2004 and provides promotional products and marketing materials to internal customers, external customers, and to end users. LENOX® Director of Communications, Susan Spalding, said, “The program is not only an on-line program but includes special promotional buys and custom programs such as a gear incentive program to our sales people and dealers. HDS signed on not only to manage and fulfill the gear needs of the brand, but are considered a strategic partner and are held accountable to manage the program from a business perspective. They are responsible for supporting our promotional gear needs from idea inception to quality of goods received, to timely fulfillment and customer satisfaction.”
HDS Marketing’s Vice President of Sales, Kelly Chiccitt said, “Working with LENOX has allowed us to use our creativity to assist them with building their brand.” For example, HDS works on concepts and promotions for TEAM HACKMAN®. “The Team Hackman concept started 25 years ago with Lee Breton, the original HACKMAN®. Breton, now 62-years-old, has been an employee of LENOX® for 44 years. As a master cutter he has traveled to tool distributors, construction job sites and trade shows worldwide. This year marks the 25th anniversary of HACKMAN® who, over the years, has performed nearly 500 cuttings that have included buses, trains, houses, boxcars, airplanes and most often, cars. In doing so, he has demonstrated not only his superior strength and cutting skill, but also the superior performance of LENOX® products, specifically, power tool accessories and hand tools.” From t-shirts to bobble heads, HDS has done it for TEAM HACKMAN®.
The relationship that was established with LENOX® ultimately lead to HDS Marketing being awarded the Newell Rubbermaid account in 2005. Moreover, HDS was named the LENOX® Supplier of the Year in February 2007. |
